From a Programmer to a Machine Learning Engineer in Just 6 Months

Humans have enormous potential. But that is achieved only when they seek out to realize it. The stories of our successful course participants fascinate me, and this is every time I speak to them.

The will of some people to succeed is just amazing. One such course participant was Akansha Maheshwari. Despite being a programmer by profession, she took on the challenge to learn Machine Learning. And, guess what! In just 6 months, she was all good with working on this technology.

Just to give you a backdrop, Akanksha Maheshwari graduated from SKIT, Jaipur and had majored in Computer Science. After her graduation, she started working as a PHP developer. But she always wanted a career in Data Science, so she started studying online, took the Digital Vidya’s Data Science course to get a gist of the industry.

Today, just after completing the course, she is already working as a Machine Learning Engineer Trainee.

Mir: What prompted you to learn Data Science & why?

Akanksha:There is a big fuss about Data Science for the past few years and the advancement happening in the field is really amazing. The scope of Data science is almost within every domain. There is still a lot new to happen, a lot new to create and do in Data Science. It’s always good to be part of the things while they are growing because there is always something new to do and create. You can’t do much in the filed which is already developed and mature. That’s really exciting about Data Science.

Mir: What are the top benefits of learning Data Science Online from the comfort of your home?

Akanksha:The online method worked really well for me. No issue of traveling. Total time saver. Also, the interaction with mentors was really good and one to one so I never felt the lack of communication.

Mir: Why did you choose DigitalVidya?

Akanksha:That was a suggestion from a friend. I did my research and it seemed like a good option in my situation.

Mir:How smooth was the delivery process?

Akanksha:They have a very systematic and simple way to deliver the content. There was a proper manner of conducting the sessions and communication was also good.

Mir:Did the online lab style of teaching where you are asked to work live in the class help you in your understanding?

Akanksha:Yes. There were proper discussions and even little tasks were given within the sessions were really helpful. You get to know the different approaches people are using.

Mir:What kind of help did you receive in doing your assignments?

Akanksha:All the assignments I did were full coverage of all the important concepts which have been taught. Also, it helps you create the logics and think through the problem.

Mir:How good was your experience in doing the project?

Akanksha:The final project covered all the concepts and the algorithm we have studied. Also, it was a little challenging. We were encouraged to do it on our own but there was also help if we stuck somewhere. Which helped us to know where we actually stand.

Mir:Was the placement process organized, did you benefit from it?

Akanksha:Yes, it did. They will help you throughout the process from resume making to the interviews in the companies. I am currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at ForgeAhead Solutions.
